The Atkins diet does work – it does produce some results. However, the Atkins Center diet menu is not the ideal long-term solution for you.

The Atkins diet is designed to invoke a metabolic state called "Ketosis".

Ketosis is a state in which carbohydrate levels in your body fall to such a low level that your muscles and tissues have no choice but to burn body fat for energy. This generally happens when carbohydrate levels in your body fall below 70 grams or so.

This is how the Atkins Center diet menu tries to help you lose fat.

A common criticism levelled against the Atkins Center diet is that Ketogenic diets are dangerous and unhealthy and are to be avoided at all costs.

Now, Ketogenic diets can be unhealthy, depending upon the health status of the person.

However, one cannot be sure about this, as current research on this issue has not produced any definitive results. Also, a ketogenic diet is a great way to cure epilepsy.

But, even though Ketogenic diets are not necessarily dangerous or unhealthy, they are definitely not necessary for reducing fat.

Ketosis, and hence the Atkins Center diet plan, is an extreme measure for reducing fat. The Atkins diet is an extremely strict and nutritionally unbalanced program. And while it may work for some time, it is a universal truth that the more extreme a diet plan, greater the side effects and more difficult it is to stay on that plan.

Even though the food items included in the Atkins Center diet food list might help you to reduce fat, there are other better ways of reducing fat.

Contrary to what would be suggested by the Atkins Center diet menu, you do not need to remove all the carbohydrates from your body in order to burn fat.

All that is required to burn fat is a calorie deficit. A moderate reduction in carbohydrates in your body is often enough.

Contrary to what is suggested by the Atkins Center diet, fat loss is just a question of balancing the right types of carbohydrates with lean proteins and good fats. But unfortunately, the food items present in the Atkins Center diet food list do not fit this bill.

Furthermore, the Atkins Center diet menu claims that you can eat as much as you want and that there are no limits to the amount of food you can eat. That’s completely false – you always have to be aware of how much you are eating.
